Goodbye and thank you from Colin Ford. After more than 35 years at HMRC I am retiring. As this is my last Tax Agent blog, I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for all your input and support, without which the fantastic relationship between agents and HMRC would not be the success it is today.

Agents have told us that not all their client’s lenders will accept the self-serve copy printed from their HMRC online account or the commercial software used to file the SA return, or their commercial software does not print. You may wish to advise your clients that certain appeals to the tax tribunal can now be made using the new online Tax Appeal service.

The new HMCTS Tax Appeal Online service allows you to submit your appeal online. You can appeal against certain decisions made by us about tax affairs and any penalties incurred.
