You may remember from previous blogs I told you about our transition to digital engagement with agents. Over the past few months we have been trialling some interactive online sessions called "Talking Points", which provide agents with opportunities to hear from and ask questions of subject matter experts from HMRC, on a range of different topics.
I would like to extend this trial and invite you to join these online meetings. They last around 45 minutes, and generally consist of a short presentation on the topic and then there will be a chance to ask questions in the text box on the screen and get them answered by the Subject Matter Expert – we will explain how during the meeting. If you have any questions for our subject matter expert prior to the meeting please send them to: team.agentengagement@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
You will be required to register for each session you would like to join, this simply involves providing a name and email address – we will then send you a link for you to use to attend the session on the day. You don't need any special equipment such as a microphone or headset to join the online sessions.
Our next Talking Points session is on:
On Wednesday 24th February 2016: 14:00 – 14:45 we are talking about Debt Management and Banking Migration.
This session is primarily aimed at agents that have clients abroad that pay by any means (BACS, CHAPS, or cheque/all payments). This will include a look at the background to migration (why, when, how, etc.), the successes, what it means to you and your clients and the ‘how to pay HMRC’ gov.uk changes.
Please click here to register for the Debt Management and Banking Talking Points.
On Tuesday 1st March 2016: 12:00 – 12:45 there will be a session looking at Your Tax Account, the new digital service allowing business customers to access everything they need to manage their tax affairs easily, simply and quickly in a single secure online space.
Please click here to register for the Your Tax Account Talking Points.
A number of you have been asking whether there is an opportunity to listen to Talking Points Sessions if you are unable to join the live meeting. This is something we have been working on and as a test we have recorded and made available the Talking Points that covered HMRC's approach to handling complaints.
You will need to register, just like the live sessions, but you will then be given access to the recorded presentation.
Please leave a comment on this blog once you have listened to let me know if this was helpful and if you would like to be able to view more of these sessions.
If there is a topic you would like us to consider for future Talking Point, why not leave your suggestion on this blog?
