Welcome to this week’s blog promoting the publication of Agent Update: issue 78. This issue quite rightly focusses on the coronavirus pandemic and how HMRC are responding to it.

In the Technical Updates and Reminders section we have  an article on the coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme, which is now live on GOV.UK.

We introduce the launch of a new, easy to use, service to report and pay Capital Gains tax when a client disposes of a property.

We also highlight the changes made to the disguised renumeration Loan Charge form and more.

Some of the highlights in the HMRC Agent Services section include details of live consultations and their deadline extensions due to COVID-19, Tax Agent Toolkits and their annual refresh for 2020, and improvements to HMRC guidance.

Our final section carries the latest updates from the partnership between HMRC and the main agent representative bodies, including contact information for professional and representative bodies, and an article from the Pension Regulator with their latest COVID-19 guidance.

As the government responds to COVID-19, guidance is constantly being updated to help support businesses and individuals. In this edition, we have tried to include the most up-to-date information before going to publication, to help you and your clients. You can find more guidance for businesses and employers and employees on GOV.UK

The next Agent Update is scheduled for August 2020.

Did you know that you can receive email alerts telling you about the latest publication of Agent Update?
