The National Minimum Wage and the tax avoidance cycle - Talking Points meetings

Welcome to this week’s Talking Points meeting blog.

We have two meetings this week – one on the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and the other on the tax avoidance cycle.

NMW

I appreciate the NMW is not always as simple as it seems. Employers can fall foul of the legislation if they are not aware of the full implications of the policies on how they pay their workers and calculate pay for NMW purposes.

We want to help support customers to get it right first time and as agents, you are key in helping us achieve this.

The NMW Talking Points meeting will cover:

  • common errors made by employers
  • who is entitled to the NMW
  • the guide by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy – National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage. Calculating the minimum wage.

Thursday 21 September - 11am to midday  Book now

The tax avoidance cycle and how to get out of it

This meeting will look at the tax avoidance cycle and how to get out of it in a quick and efficient way.

Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A with a team of experts involved in settling avoidance cases, including those impacted by the Supreme Court ruling on Rangers (5 July 2017).

Friday 22 September – midday to 1pm    Book now
