You may have heard that Agent Online Self Serve (AOSS) is now called Agent Services (AS). The name change came about as the key priorities for 2016/2017 were reviewed and updated, and the new name better reflects the scope of what HMRC aims to deliver for agents within this programme. We now have 4 key delivery areas which are:
- On-boarding - this will enable agents to access services and features contained in the Personal and the Business tax account using third party software which will give them the ability to see and do what their clients are able to through their tax accounts.
- Subscription - a process that will allow us to collect data about a tax agency as part of HMRC's Agent Strategy.
- Authorisation - enhance the existing online agent authorisation (OAA) service.
- Inbound Secure Messaging - work to understand what information agents want to send to HMRC and explore the digital solutions that can be used to cater for this requirement.
